Costa Rica: J L's Favorites

This Blog was conceived with the idea of our family being able to share some of our adventures with anyone who would care to look at our photos and read of them.

This will be my first attempt at writing and posting on the Blog created for us by our son, Cameron.  I don't have the gift of gab that some do, so my comments will be brief, or non-existent, as the case may be, at times.  However, I have wanted to find a way to share my passion at this stage in life and that is to locate and photograph the birds of the world to the extent possible.  I have a long, long way to go; however, it takes the first step, or in our case, the first trip, to begin this quest.  With my partner in life, my understanding and willing wife, Nancy, who also shares in my love of birding, we look forward to traveling.  We have been fortunate to visit a number of countries in the last six years or so, and some travel around the States.  As we venture out, I hope to continue to add to this Blog some of the photos we have taken.  I do not presume to be a Photographer, but rather, one who enjoys taking pictures of the birds I see when possible.

Cameron has, and will, post on this Blog.  His day job(s) are in Hawaii.  He has a different perspective, usually for the better, regarding photography and other technical issues that keep his parents out of trouble and typically in good working order.  Not a birder per se, but willing to fill in for his Mom when she is off on another adventure with others.

Nancy will, I am sure, have her own input from time to time.  For the first time, we traveled to different locations this past May when she and her sister traveled to Italy while Cameron and I took in Costa Rica.

Daughter Courtney and family will also be able to contribute as they may want to share their travels and adventures.

My motto, which I have shared with those who have asked what I am up to these days, is "Where ever you are, there a bird will be." With that in mind, I aspire to go to as many places as possible.
I should also mention that we take pictures of anything that moves, and a lot of things that don't.  Therefore, we will also be adding pages to this Blog of the different animals, butterflies, bugs, snakes,  sunrises, sunsets, landscapes, etc., as may tickle our fancy.

NOW, a few photos of the birds of Costa Rica through May 7, 2014.
